Our Doctors

Dr. Sonia Valle is a 1996 graduate of State University of New York, College of Optometry, where she graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Valle knew her passion for optometry early in life and enrolled in Adelphi University’s pre-optometry undergraduate/graduate combined program with SUNY College of Optometry.

Dr. Alison Evert (formally Dr. Alison Schmidt) is a compassionate optometrist who strives to provide the best care for her patients. She graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 2010, and spent a semester at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia. Dr. Evert went on to graduate from SUNY College of Optometry in 2015, where she was able to participate in a mission trip to Nicaragua and provide eye care and glasses to an underserved population.

Dr. Kimberly Ferraro is residency-trained in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation from the SUNY College of Optometry and Board-Certified in Vision Development and Vision Therapy by the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD).

Dr. Bhavna Joshi is a dedicated primary care optometrist at Professional Vision Care. She completed her residency at the VA Medical Center in Northport, New York, where she focused on primary care and neuro-visual rehabilitation. During her training, she gained extensive experience managing ocular disease and conducting low vision and binocular vision evaluations. She also contributes to the clinical education of optometry students whenever possible.
