Dr. Kimberly Ferraro is residency-trained in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation from the SUNY College of Optometry and Board-Certified in Vision Development and Vision Therapy by the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD).
Dr. Ferraro received her Optometry degree from the SUNY College of Optometry in 2015. It was here that her passion for developmental optometry and vision therapy grew, and she proudly received the COVD Excellence in Vision Therapy Award. During residency, she presented posters on various binocular vision topics and lectured a continuing education course on Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation for Post-Concussion Patients.
In addition to patient care, she also enjoys clinical research. Her involvement began in undergrad and continued through Optometry school where she was a sub-investigator for multiple research studies. She was also a vision therapist on the Convergence Insufficiency Treatment Trial: Attention and Reading Study.
Over the past five years, Dr. Ferraro served as an adjunct assistant clinical professor of SUNY College of Optometry. She supervised fourth-year Optometry students in a clinical setting in Brooklyn, NY with focus in pediatrics, vision therapy, and neuro-optometric rehabilitation.
Dr. Ferraro provides comprehensive eye care with interest in pediatric eye care, including vision therapy and myopia management. She is passionate about helping young patients to slow myopia with multifocal contact lenses and low-dose Atropine eye drops. She is proficient in fitting various contact lenses and has experience in the management of ocular diseases such as Dry Eye, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, and Diabetic Retinopathy.
In her free time, Dr. Ferraro enjoys exploring new restaurants/coffee shops and spending time with her kids. Originally from Commack, she is excited to join the strong team of doctors at Professional Optometry Vision Care and looks forward to helping your family’s eye care needs.
