If you were diagnosed with amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (crossed eyes), or double vision as a child, then you likely received the appropriate care. But it is not uncommon for them to do undetected and only arise in adulthood, at which point the only way to get effective improvement for them is with our Commack vision therapy. And here at Professional Vision Care, we are pleased to be able to make such treatment available.
In addition to the conditions listed above, our Commack vision therapy is also helpful in the treatment of some reading and learning disabilities. Amblyopia, strabismus, and double vision cannot be cured through this method, but that's not the goal since curing is not possible. The priority is to improve your vision in spite of one or more of those disorders. How does our treatment work? Our eye doctor will have you perform targeted eye exercises right here at our office in sessions that last from thirty to sixty minutes. Typically, a schedule of once or twice per week is sufficient to get the desired outcome. The process is somewhat like physical therapy for your eyes, training them to overcome the obstacles that have stood in the way of your ability to experience optimal vision. Your set of eye exercises will be developed exclusively for you and your individual needs. In addition to what you do at our office, you may also be asked to do some on your own at home between sessions. Over a period of time, you should begin to notice that your vision is gradually getting better.
With our Commack vision therapy, it's possible to get past the issues that have kept you from seeing as well as you should be. Just reach out to our office and we will find a convenient time for you to come in for a consultation and examination.
